With Bias: Images of a Leader: The Bush Presidency

Thank You President Bush

What more can I say. The title says it all. I can only add my small thank you which I'd actually like to scroll across the sky that would soar a thousand feet high: Thank you W for being such a fine human being!

Be Careful Little Ears What You Hear

Before I got saved even as a youngster, I was never attracted to rock music but there were a few songs of Crosby Stills Nash and Young that I thought were rather nice. One of them particularly: Teach your children. I cannot remember the titles of the other songs. Then I became a born again Christian and was immediately attracted to Christian poetry or rather I should say Christian hymnology. I bought a copy of Songs of Zion and was transported by the words into worshipful awe of my Saviour. I still do not know the tunes of some of my favourites. Music, Christian or secular, has the power to transport your soul along one of two divergent paths, the straight and narrow that leads to the Lord Jesus Christ and fellowship with Him or the crooked and broad that leads to destruction and hell. We can choose which path we will take by what we listen to, what we let our eyes see, what we let our hands do or where we let our feet go. Paul and Silas prayed and sang hymns to God while their feet were fastened in stocks and the other prisoners were listening to them. The other prisoners could not have listened to them if their words were being drowned out by the mesmeric beat of drums, the shrill ear piercing twang of electric guitars and ghoulish yelps from the half human members of the band. They could not have listened because they would not have heard their words over the din. But, blessed be the Biblical record, not only did the other prisoners hear but Heaven did too and the Holy Spirit descended upon that prison with power. Doors were opened, chains were loosed and ultimately a man and his household were saved and gave glory to God. And that is the kind of music, singing and making melody in our hearts to the Lord that will not only send the powerful presence of the Holy Spirit into our midst but will loosen the chains of self absorption and open the prison doors of sin setting the prisoner free. Am I a slave of Satan or am I slave of righteousness. My choice of music, as with every choice I make in life, will reveal the true state of my soul.
